jargon file
      -----------

from back when people still had
      to fight off primordial monstrosities
all the way up to the 1990s ce, all
      the famous and influential programmers
kept their slang in something called a
jargon file. the file's online, but it's
probably tired and wants some alone time,
so I won't link to it.

anyway, this is my very own jargon file.

      jargon for keyboard symbols:
      - # = crunch
      - ' = spark
      - \ = hack
      - @ = strudel
      - & = pretzel
      - ` = tick
      - < = tic
      - > = tac
      - % = cherries
      - ~ = worm
      - * = splat, sparkle
      - " = snakebite
      - ? = pop
      - | = spike
      - [ = square
      - ] = unsquare
      - ^ = hat

      - anything within tictacs is called a dragon
      - sticking terms together creates a boat
.. like the stuff created with ## in C macros
      - anything that begins with a single spark is called a cliccue
.. like lifetimes in rust and quoted lists in lisp
